Lessons customized to your specific Musical taste and goals.
I design your lessons with your specific goals in mind. No two students are the same and I make sure to address your interests, taste, and objectives.
I design your musical curriculum according to your preferred musical direction.
Pay attention to music that interests you, and share your affinities with me! I can create arrangements of that music that fit your skill level.
Based on my more than 20 years of piano teaching, I have developed two music theory books which I make available exclusively to my students. These books will help you quickly understand the "language of music." I also teach and reinforce music theory knowledge in the context of the songs we will be learning together.
Your note reading skills will improve through the use of a piano performance book which I have developed myself, flash cards, and through additional teaching in the context of your songs.
We will work on good hand and arm position as well as overall posture. I try to focus primarily on performing songs but will also teach scales and provide hand exercises as needed. As mentioned in the note reading section above, the piano performance book I have written also will be a great resource in this area.
I hold a yearly recital where students may decide to sing while accompanying themselves on piano, or they may decide to play a duet with me or with another student.
I provide lessons in the convenience of your home. My drive time is included in the lesson charge.
